Over at the Avatar Wiki, they have an entire section dedicated to fan-made content. This allows for wiki contributors to edit their fan works within the same community, as well as link their pages to on-wiki content.
My idea is to do this for the Ace Combat Fanon Wiki, merging this wiki into Acepedia itself under articles named "Fanon:Article Name". So, for example, the ADF-37 HellHawk would be on Acepedia as "Fanon:ADF-37 HellHawk".
This requires community consensus, on both this wiki and Acepedia.
If the community agrees to this, here's what would happen:
All ACFW articles will be exported to Acepedia. Main articles will be under the Fanon namespace, Talk articles will be under the Fanon talk namespace, and other articles (User, Project, Template, etc.) will be under their respective namespaces.
All ACFW user blog posts will be exported to Acepedia and remain as user blog posts.
All ACFW Forum posts and Discussions will NOT be exported and will be deleted.
Files on ACFW will only be exported depending on the following:
If the files also exist on Acepedia, they will NOT be exported.
If the files are from something else (this photo of Maverick, this photo of General Hux, etc.), they will NOT be exported.
If the files are Ace Combat fan art that was NOT uploaded by the original author, they will NOT be exported.
If the files are Ace Combat fan art that was uploaded by the original author, they will be exported.
Any files that do not fall under the above conditions will be exported on a case-by-case basis.
Click here for the Acepedia thread with more information on the process there.
This is not an automatic process. This will take time and will be done carefully to ensure it's all done without any issues. It will not happen unless there is a consensus in this thread to make it so, but I think this would be beneficial to the collection of Ace Combat fan works.
