The Battle of Alshain was a major naval battle in the Sotoan-Pacific War that took place from July 5 to 11, 1945 in and around the Alshain and Serene island groups in the South Verusan Sea. The expeditionary units of the Osean Maritime Defense Force, under command of Fleet Admiral Franklin V. Buzzard, defeated the attacking fleets of the Imperial Sotoan Navy. Over 400 ships and 1,000 aircraft took part in the engagement, making it known as the largest naval battle in military history.
Osea's decisive victory at Alshain ultimately turned the tide of the war in the Allied forces' favour and forcing Sotoa on the retreat and defensive. The battle cemented Osea as the world's most dominant naval power.
