Air Division[]
The BSK operates an Air division, commanded jointly by the Belkan SOCOM and the Belkan Air Force. The pre-Waldreich BSK air division had a dislike for superfighters, and operated the best standard aircraft Belka had to offer, such as the Focke-Wulf 190 and Me-262 during the 1st Osean Continental War, and the Su-47 Berkut during the Belkan War and the Circum-Pacific War. This was not the case during the Waldreich, however, where they operated a variety of aircraft, primarilly the AH-65B Comanche II Stealth Attack Helicopter, the F-15S/MT+, the Su-43 and the X-02B Wyvern II. The were also the only branch of any nation's military to operate the infamous ADF-02A Super Falken, which was only assigned to pilots with over 5,000 hours of flying time or fifteen air-to-air victories.
History[]
Origin[]
The BSK formed in 1940 amidst the First Osean Continental War, under the Belkan Bundeswehr. Aside from it's Air Division, the BSK was, for the most part, confined to a counter-insurgency role; acting as a secret police force, weeding out groups and individuals who threatened the Belkan war machine. As the tide of war rapid turned in favor of the Allies, in 1945 the BSK began carrying out operations outside of Belkan-held territory, involving espionage, assassination, and most notably, terrorism and morale-crushing psychological warfare. Though the actions of the BSK during the closing years of the conflict ultimately did little to prevent Belka's defeat at the hands of the Allies, it did however earn them infamy as a fearsome and ruthless fighting force.
The Belkan War[]
After decades of inactivity following the First Osean Continental War, the BSK, now separate from the Bundeswehr, it reprised its role as a secret police force immediately following the rise of an extremist right wing party resulting from the the devastating Federal Law Review of 1988. It now began using destructive and immoral tactics; using torture, blackmail, and horrifying public demonstrations to keep the Belkan people in line and achieve its ends. Though their actions piqued the interest of human rights and peacekeeping organizations in nations such as Osea and the ISAF, the aggressively frenzied political state of the Belkan Federation prevented any sort of intervention at the time, fearing that they would be either caught up in an international fiasco, or more likely, all-out war. This became irrelevant when Belka stepped onto Osean territory in early 1995, however. The Osean government, enraged by the Belkan attack, struck back with with suprising swiftness, initiating Offensive Campaign Number 4101. The Belkan forces occupying the newly captured Osean land were quickly eliminated, and Belka was quickly put on the defensive. The BSK, however, was placed in an offensive role, infiltrating and enacting sabotage to weaken the enemy attackers. During the dark days of the war, a desperate and fanatical BSK enacted a massive terror bombing campaign across Osea. Though the majority of these attacks were successful, they failed to sufficiently weaken Osean morale, mostly thanks to the marginal victory scored by Osean law enforcement in Oured, Apito, and November City, who managed to foil the attacks on these locations. The bombing was the final action carried out by the Belkommando Spezialkrafte during the Belkan War, as the BSK's head of operations was killed when the Belkans detonated nuclear weapons on their own soil.
Exile[]
With the Belka stripped of its military capacity, the BSK, on an official level, was no more. But off the record, they were now a part of the Gray Men, and under direct command of an extreme political idealist named Galaan Scharfefaust. They served as his own private army as he and the rest of the Gray Men plotted a complex plan to exact revenge upon the Osean Federation. A highly publicized incident occurred in 2007, when an Osean military official named Shaun Toppell inadvertently stumbled upon a secret weapons plant. The breach in security was not realized until after Toppell had made it out of the plant. Scharfefaust deployed BSK strike force, which captured Toppell and beat him to death. The body was planted to make it look like a random act of violence. An innocent Belkan man named Klaus Wengert was charged with asassination and murder in the second degree, and was sentenced to capital punishment in 2008. The Osean court that sentenced Wengert recieved large amounts of criticism when it was discovered years later that the Gray Men were the true culprit behind the killing.
The Circum-Pacific War[]
In 2010, the Gray Men put the plot for revenge they spent fifteen years to create into action. BSK commando teams covertly infiltrated a state establishment in the Yuktobanian capital of Cinigrad, capturing Prime Minister Seryozha Nikanor. The Gray Men took hold of the governments of both Yuktobania and Osea, using the BSK to threaten government officials and force them to keep the Belkans presence secret. An SR-71 Blackbird was dispatched to try to "learn what happened to Prime Minister Nikanor", with it's true purpose being to lure the Oseans out to it. A flight of OADF trainees accidentally encountered the SR-71's escort, who shot most of the trainees down. The remainder of the sqaudron was dispatched to investigate. The escort once again attacked, but this time was shot down, along with the Blackbird, which was hit in the crossfire. The Grey Men used this to make Yuktobania declare war on Osea. After a series of attacks on the Osean Coastline, which ultimately resulted in the use of superweapons by both nations, the Gray Men lured the Osean President Vincent Harling to the. The Oseans carried out Operation: Footprint, invading the Yuktobanian Mainland through the Bastok Peninsula. While the Yuktobanians retreated away from the Osean advance, BSK commandos disguised as Yuktobanian Spetsnaz units infiltrated deep into Osea, launching chemical attacks on a college in Bana City, and a strike on Apito International Airport. Their efforts were thwarted thanks in part to the 108th "Wardog" Tactical Fighter Squadron, the remains of the squadron who investigated the incident that sparked the war. But the attacks escalated tensions between the two nations nonetheless. As the Yuktobanian submarine superweapon Hrimfaxi pummelled the advancing Osean Army Forces with ICBMs, the BSK boarded the Oseans superweapon in geosynchronous orbit over the western coast of Osea, the Arkbird, carrying materials to complete another superweapon which the Allies had begun building during the Belkan War, the Strategic Orbital Linear Gun, or SOLG, and faked the Arkbird's destruction in order to draw attention away from their operations in orbit. Wardog squadron destroyed the Hrimfaxi in the Razgriz Straights and allowed the Osean advance to continue, earning the the name "The Demons of Razgriz". A group of aces from the Belkan War know as Grabacr Squadron, disguised as the fake 8492nd Tactical Fighter Squadron, attempted to ambush Wardog, but failed. Wardog, having learned the truth about the war, went into exile as fugitives, along with the 3rd Osean Naval Fleet. They rescued Nikanor and Harling from Belka, who spoke before their people to reveal the Belkan plot and unified some of Osean and Yuktobanian forces against the Gray Men. While the Gray Men in Yuktobania kept the Forces that remained there preoccupied, the Belkommando fought to the bitter end to fend off the joint attack upon Grunder Industries, with the support of the now-functional SOLG. Though they failed to save their headquarters, Sharfefaust and the BSK retreated to exile once again in the irradiated mountain territories of northern Belka.
Change in Leadership[]
At an unknown time between the end of the Circum-Pacific War and the beginning of the Annean Continental War, there was a period of time in which the United Nations worked together to hunt down and either arrest or kill the remaining members of the Gray Men. The BSK was especially careful to keep itself hidden for the time-being until they could begin resistance activities once again, but this time with a renewed hatred towards the nations responsible for their failure, especially Osea.
This was Galaan Sharfefaust's primary focus, and ultimately proved his undoing sometime in July of 2013, as he should have been more concerned with his own personal security. What happened on that day in July is still unknown to this day, and any discussion of what could have happened is purely academic. One theory suggests that he was assassinated either by an agent of the United Nations or a power-hungry suboordinate; another claims that Sharfefaust survived an assassination attempt, but was forced to flee for his life. His current status is unknown.
It is believed that this sent the Gray Men remnants into disarray, but several BSK officers were determined to continue on, but they needed a new leader. One of them had been tipped off about a possible sympathiser in the Belkan military, and so he made contact with him. The BSK remnants met up with this sympathiser at Stier Castle on the borders of North Osea and Nord Belka, and were shocked to find the last person they expected: Brigadier General Erik Felsen, a top ace who fought against the Gray Men in the Circum-Pacific War and (after having his commision reinstated), was promoted to the commander of the 8th Air Division of the Belkan Luftwaffe. As it turned out, Felsen did in fact want not only to reunify Belka, but to take revenge against the rest of the world as well; he also stated that his reason for leaving the Gray Men and betraying them was for the atrocities he was forced to commit, particularly against civilians, which he believed was dishonorable. The BSK Officers were convinced enough to agree with his sentiments, and they decided to choose Erik as their new leader. The remaining members of the Gray Men reorganized, and on September 1st, 2013, a new power structure was formed; it is believed that this event was the beginning of the radical political party and rebel militia known as the Reborn Knights of Belka.
The Annean Continental War[]
In 2015, the Estovakia invade its neighbor, Emmeria, beginning the Annean Continental War. The United Nations was apprehensive that the war could be blown out of proportion to include other nations, and so several nations decided it was best to end the war quickly, leading to several units from foreign nations joining up on one side or the other, or at least being hired as mercenaries
This was not unnoticed by Erik Felsen, who immediately saw this as a valuable opportunity to gain supporters for his cause as well as providing experience to new recruits within the BSK units. He made a speech to the Belkan government, and was able to convince them to send the 16th and 57th Army Divisions, 31st Panzer Division, and the 8th Air Division to support Emmeria; through subtle alterations within the military's files, Erik ensured that most of the soldiers heading to war were part of his movement. The global community was amazed at Belka's bold move, which they ensured was "a containment effort against expansionism by a hostile nation."
While in Emmeria, the BSK operated under the disguise of elite Belkan Army Special Forces soldiers known as the BSA (Belkommando Sturmaubteilung, somtimes referred to simply as commandos), and helped primarilly in logistics and training, but when Estovakian ground units came close to Gracemmeria, they were deployed to the front line in an area just north of the capital. Most of the BSK soldiers here had never seen real combat, and though well-trained were still inexperienced. As a result, they were pushed back by the Estovakians, though the latter took heavy casualties in the process (the kill-to-loss ratio for Belkan units in this war was an astonishing 4-to-1 considering that they were heavily outnumbered). They fought hard but were eventually surrounded. In a bold initiative, the Belkan 8th Air Division blew a hole in the enemy's flank that allowed the BSK to retreat to safety.
By the time the counterattack began, the units had vastly improved thanks to hard-learned lessons from their failed defense of Gracemmeria, and when it was time to retake the capital, it was the 57st Army Division, made up mostly of covert BSK soldiers, that were the first ground forces to engage in the fight to liberate Emmeria's capital. Later on, they would take part in the attack on Chandelier, either as commandos conducting sabotage within the massive railgun itself or, in a few rare cases, as pilots providing top cover for the ground forces. In all, the BSK killed, wounded and captured a total of 28,000 Estovakian soldiers, destroyed over 4000 armored vehicles and shot down more than 150 planes, at the cost of almost 7,000 of their own number). This single event set the final piece of the BSK's revival into place.
The Second Osean Continental War[]
In 2016, the Reborn Knights of Belka made their move and within a remarkably short period of time was able to overthrow the government and install a new one in its place, largely in part by BSK shock troopers, and they would later take part in the recapturing of South Belka from Osea. When the war the Reborn Knights of Belka sought finally became reality, the BSK was thrust into direct combat yet again, though functioned much as a secret police force as well.
Despite their change in leadership, the BSK committed countless attrocities against civilians and POWs alike. Regardless of age, gender, allegiance or condition, countless people suffered from their actions, many of whom suffered permanent injury from their attackers. One of the most infamous incidents occured near the war's conclusion when a schism occured in the government. A crowd of people supported a breakaway faction in Sudentor, South Belka, while the BSK, remaining loyal to Felsen's regime, opened fire on the crowd. 1,246 people were killed and nearly 1,359 wounded in what became known as the Sudentor Massacre on November 8th, 2017.
Their final stand was at Disnmark on December 31st, 2017, when they were ordered by an almost certainly insane Erik Felsen to "fight to the last man; make every millimeter of ground cost a thousand souls!" This fanatical loyalty lead to their total annihilation; of about 9,000 men in the BSK at the start of the war, combat units or otherwise, only 8 survived, and all but 1 were executed for war crimes. This lone surviver is unidentified, but he is believed to be a BSK medical officer named in Erik Felsen's memoirs as Bernhart Schneider, files of whom are rare and far between. It is believed that he took on an alias, and was responsible not only for smuggling the fallen dictator out of the ruined state of Belka, but for treating his wounds and also for being the leader of the General Resource Limited genetic engineering program known as Project Dragonchild, which was in fact originally concieved by a BSK officer in 2016.
Legacy[]
The BSK was outlived by its own reputation. Though during the trials of the 8 survivors the BSK was denounced as "nothing more than glorified terrorist thugs", in the mind of the Osean public their name had been synonymized with extremism, and had also become a symbol for many nationalist movements within Belka.

Trivia[]
- The role of the BSK is similar to that of the real-life Waffen-SS, the military division of Nazi Germany's infamous Shutzstaffel (literally translated "Special Forces") or SS, before and during the Second World War.
