The Democratic Federation of Wellow is a country located on north of Osean continent. The country is composed by hundreds of islands, the main one being the Nardes Island, the largest island of world. Because of its location, has very low temperatures and vegetation characteristics of arctic tundra. Most of cities are located on the coast, including the capital, Austerd.
Wellow was habited by a nomad people known as Nares. By the tenth century, settlers from the Kingdom of Nordennavic established themselves in the region. Initially, the settlers coexisted with the natives, with no major conflicts occurred between the two peoples.
However, due to poor adaptation to the environment, many settlers perished due to problems like hunger and ill. While many returned, some stayed in the region, founding important port towns across the south coast of Nardes Island. With this, the colony prospered, becoming an important starting point for the colonization of the southern lands.
The country remained on the field of the Kingdom until 1814, when a popular revolt erupted. The Nordennavican King deployed abusive taxes and repressive methods against the population, what claimed for better living conditions. The revolutionaries, led by Andre Svenson, an important rebel general, took the seat of government in Avenia, ending a bloody civil war.With the revolution, was initially established a presidential republic, given the willingness of the population.
The new country has distanced itself culturally and economically of Nordennavic, approaching of Osean Federation. In 1843, with discovered of natural resources, Welow experienced an industrial revolution which changed the economic base of fishing for industry.
During the twentieth century, Wellow stood neutral in relation to various wars and ideological struggle between the superpowers. With the end of the Cold War, Wellow joined the G8, standing out as a developed country.
Geography[]
Wellow is formed by many islands bathed by Arctic Ocean. The main island, Nardes, has a total area of about 44 000 km. Is the largest island of world. The climate is arctic to sub-arctic with cool summers and very cold winters. The territory and generally sloping slightly and there is a layer of ice gradual slope covering the whole island. The coastline is mostly rocky, with cliffs.
The country's population is composed by 30 million habitants. Most of them are Nordennavican descendents. The official languages is Nordennavican and some native dialects. Wellowan people are mostly adepts of Protestant religion. The actual currency is the Koroa.
Policy[]
Wellow is a multiparty Democratic Federarion. The president is head of state and it's chosen by elections every four years. The parliament is composed by 100 members elected by the citizens every eight years.
Military[]
The Military Forces of Wellow are divided into four forces: Army, Air Force, Naval Forces and Marines. The head of the armed forces is the Supreme Commander, the most senior officer in the country. The four forces have about 5,000,000 men in duty.
Wellowan Land Forces[]
The WLF is the most numerous force of Wellowan Military. With a total of 2,500,000 men, the land forces have some of most advanced equipments of modern warfare at their disposal.
