The Pangora conflict was an insurgency in the West Clavian island prefecture of Pangora. The conflict broke out in the late spring of 2007, with most of the intense fighting lasting for several months. The low-level insurgency would continue on until 2013.
Prelude[]
The conflict arose out of years of increasing political tensions between the Pangoran natives and the West Clavian government. The Pangorans were an ethnic minority and for much of history Pangora was a vassal state to the Clavian Kingdom. The insurgency was triggered when the federal government cracked down on Pangoran protesters demanding more autonomy for the island. In response, the New Pangoran Liberation Front was formed with the aim to establish an independent Pangora. Several West Clavian military units stationed on the island, those mostly made up of Pangora natives, began defecting to the movement.
