The Sotoan-Pacific War, also called the Sotoan War, was a major conflict that was fought on and around the western Verusan continent, the Eusian Ocean, and the Pacific Ocean. The end of the Great Fuscum War led to the collapse of the Yuktobanian Tsardom and the Anean Empire, disrupting the balance of power across the Verusan continent. Taking advantage of the regional power vacuums, the Sotoan Empire began a series of aggressive military and territorial expansion across the western area of the continent in the 1920s.
The war officially began in May 1932, when the Sotoan Empire invaded Clavis. Sotoa's subsequent invasions of Valka and Dardene in 1937 prompted the nascent republics of Emmeria and Yuktobania to react and oppose Sotoan aggression. Osea would enter the war on November 3, 1940 after a Sotoan surprise attack against the Catalina Naval Base on the Sipia Islands in the East Verusan Sea.
The conflict saw major use of monoplane aircraft and one of the first deployments of jet aircraft.
